The art of the Kuba tribes is described as being among Africa's finest works. Portrait figures, masks, and ceremonial objects such as goblets, boxes and bowls display a fine aesthetic sense, both in the form of the objects and in their rich and detailed decoration. I believe that the pattern of triangles is called balamwezi, the rising of the new moon. It appears in the decorative art of many of the tribes in the Congo. Available as:
