The Babindji are known mainly for their masks, which have a triangular facial structure, pointed chin, and a large concave area round the eyes, which are often whitened. The rest of the mask is either black, red or brown.
This dance mask is of the central Babindji style, with its characteristic long, pointed chin, rectangular protruding mouth and large, deeply set eyes.
