Assegai is an African font. The name "assegai" is an Afrikaans word for spear. The haft (or back part) of the spear was made of wood and was rounded for holding. The shapes of the characters in the Assegai font are influenced by the haft of the spear. This spear was always hand-crafted and each warrior maintained his own weapon. The assegai was thus a completely personal weapon, and each assegai differed from the next. As individual assegais vary, so do the characters in the font.
